    what about “it” ?
you told us about his her….i.e tyacha ticha….n bla bla bla
but how will u speak for “it’s”
means suppose we need to describe a cellphone’s featrures…so we’ll start by…. if u wana say it is samsung mobile
    }”te samsung mobile aahe”
ok now we wana describe its features ok
    so how will u say…. “It’s features are……”??????

    • Akshay says:

      hi samriddhi,

Generally we consider mobile as an masculine object. So , you can use ” tyche or tyachi” when referring to a mobile.
and if u wana say ” it is a samsung mobile ” the you may say it is as ” ha samsung mobile aahe, hyache features ase aahet…..”

      • akanksha says:

srry sir ..m nt gettng ur point..if u r taking mob as masculine thn u shuld b using tyacha..y u using tyachi n tyche

        • Akshay says:

Dint get ur question Akansha . Could you please explain again ??

        • Tushar says:

          Akshay is right.
We do consider things as masculine or feminine in Hindi too.
          like
          this pencil is mine
          ye pencil meri hai

          this is a pen
          ye pen mera hai

like this only it is a samsung phone
          ha samsung phone ahe .

  4. jannelle britto says:

how do you understand whether a common noun is feminine or masculine.for eg. how do you know that the vehicle is feminine and it is “ti gaadi” or “te pustak”,etc. in hindi, marathi and french u have masculine feminine unlilke english???

    • Akshay says:

      Hi Jannelle

There are no rules as such but in most of the cases, the word ending with the sound of -aa are masculine and those with -ee are feminine.
for example : Ghodaa (horse) = Masculine Gadi (vehicle) = Feminine
Kutraa (dog)= Masculine Mumbai = Feminine

      Regards.
      Akshay

  5. andrea says:

if we consider the words ending with aa as masculine and the words ending with ee as feminine ,then which words are neuter gender?

  6. shikto says:

is there a difference for singular and plural, like in hindi on would say… TERA kapda, TERE kapde ?

Thanks for the great work :)

    • Akshay says:

Not for the word “kapde” but you can say it for other words like tuza phone and tuze phone pr tuza kutra(dog) and tuze kutre(dogs).

hi!….. Akshya bhau, i thought Marathi is typical but in this site the pattern of discription is very easy. It is my first day of learning and i am very happy. Thanks a lot.
    i am little confuse about…………
“my name” in Marathi is “maze naav” then “my car” will be “maze car” or “mazee car”?
you have said that “naav” is neuter then what about “car”, we generally say in Hindi “uska naam , uski car”, please tell me someone as soon as possible.
