Excellent site esp all the practice tests! Great job

ते खूप चांगले प्रयत्न आहेत . इथे मी माझ्या अनुभव शेयर करतो. मला फार मजा येते. I have tried to write in marathi after my first visit to this side. May be there is something wrong, but you may understand what i am saying. Only one thing is missing is that if you provide mp3 format also herewith, so we can find that how to pronounce the marathi words exactly, because i found some word which i dont know how to pronounce it exactly. for example देणाऱ्यांना,ह्या, प्राप्त करून घ्या, देणं, व्हावे, ज्यांना,मिळालं, गेल्यामुळं (generally bindi on last character). However its good effort. Thanking you.
Thank you Balvantkumar. You have written perfect Marathi. I am happy that you are enjoying here. And yes, we have this idea in our to do list.Soon, we’ll start adding audio support also.

Hello Sachin,
I am afraid I can not make myself available to teach Marathi personally. If you have any doubts, please write me here on the website. I’ll try to solve it by all possible means.
Thanks and Regards.
Hi,
I have just completed going through the whole website. This website is designed perfectly and interestingly. My doubt were cleared nicely and I learned many things.I had a really nice experience on it.
Actually,I am a student and had problems with Marathi. Because of this website,I have improved a lot in Marathi. What I feel that Akshay, you do all the look-after here,am I right?
But what if I wish to improve my Marathi even further. I still have some doubts. I am not still perfect in Marathi.I do many mistakes in Marathi exams. Please suggest me what I could do in this?
Regards,
Shavez.
Hi Shavez,
You have taken some serious efforts to learn Marathi and I can see that from the intelligent doubts u have raised throughout your journey on this website. It is very nice of you to share your experience on this page. If you have any doubts feel free to ask them in any of comment boxes. I’ll try my best to clear them. Since you are a learner it is quite natural to make mistakes and I would advise to do make as many mistakes as possible. You will improve your Marathi by correcting your mistakes.Language learning is a time taking process; you just keep practicing Marathi with your friends and colleagues and one day you certainly be as fluent as the native Marathi speaker.
Thanks and Regards
Akshay
Your very much thanks, Akshay.

I am glad I hit upon mindurmarathi.
Your presentation is beautiful . The menu items on the home page have variety to suit individual preferences . The graphics and font sizes give a feel of spaciousness and are easy on the eye.
As similar topics can occur in different menus , I only wish you had ‘back’ button to take us back to the root of the current page .
Thank you !

Hello! I have something completely different to tell and ask you. I just started a blog about graduating university in times of this economical crisis, so I needed a picture of a confused-looking person to go with my first introduction-post. I Googeled ‘I Don’t Know’ and stumbled upon the following page (and picture) on your website: http://mindurmarathi.com/how-to-say-in-marathi/i-dont-know. I posted the first post and the picture with a hyperlink (so you could click on the picture and then you would be linked to this website). But then I found out that it is not completely legal to use pictures from other websites just for ‘decorational use’ on your own webpage or blog. Oops! I deleted the picture from my blog, but when I posted I shared it on Twitter/Facebook/Linkedin. So the picture is still visible there. I’m so sorry! I’m new to this blogging thing, but I really want it to work this time and don’t want to get in some sort of trouble for something like this. Are we okay now that I’ve told you?
Its okay. No worries. !!
Fantastic!
thanks
very nice website and learning marathi through this will be very easy for me .I have gone through some lesson and they were easy to understand.thankyou.
Hi, Thank you for the website! My boyfriend is a Marathi speaker from Mumbai and I am learning some for him and so I can introduce myself to his parents and I enjoy your site – there are not many resources for learning Marathi online so its really helpful. Also, the daily lessons to my inbox are great, whenever they come in I read them to my boyfriend and he laughs at my funny New Zealand accent speaking Marathi. THANK YOU
Happy that this website has reached too far than expected…..
The web site makes me feel that as a child i was holding my mother’s finger and try to walk
Great initiative
Awesome, Fantastic, wonderful
Keep up the good work
Thanks Saravanan. Very happy after reading what you feel about my website
cheers !!
I really appreciate all the information on this website. I have been living in Pune for the last 1 year, and I am learning very slowly. I found this website maybe 2 months ago, and it makes learning Marathi fun and modern. I don’t always have the time to sit down and open a book for hours, so receiving the Marathi emails is really a blessing. Thank you for making this website free and accessible to all. You are true educators who are sharing your passion. Thank you!!
Thanks a lot Stephanie.
Thanks a lot.
This website is amazing! I have truly learned more from this site than from any Indian language professor I’ve ever had–and I’ve taken Hindi and Marathi for a total of two and a half years from three different teachers. The organization and structure of the website is great. My one request is that the quizzes and practice for the verbs include a greater variety of pronouns. Most of them focus on what I do, but I need more practice saying what you/he/she/they/we do because I can never seem to remember how to correctly conjugate the verbs when I’m speaking. For instance, it would be great if the transitive verbs practice had pronouns other than “I” in it–especially since some of them require “ne” and some of them don’t. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this site; it really is wonderful.
Hi Katherine
Your feedback is truly valuable.I’ll start adding quizzes with more focus on 2nd/3rd person pronouns.
Thanks.
Hey, thx a lot for putting up this site! I’ve not yet started, but I surely will. But is it maybe possible to download the course, since I’m not having internet all the time, and then won’t be able to access the site to learn. And if I have it on my laptop, then I will always be able to learn, whether I have an internet connection or not.
Please let me know if this is possible.
And keep up this good work!
Hi Bad Wolf
I think there are many softwares available which can be used to to read entire website only. However, you may not able to solve exercieses in this case.
Regards
Ok, thank you. But you don’t have an offline version of the whole study, inclusive the exercises?
Umm no…..I’ll have to write a book for that
Excellent effort !! I am not in Maharashtra, nor do I have a Marathi girlfriend – but I am still
learning Marathi because it is really fun at this website. The site is very interesting. It must have
taken a very good amount of effort and passion, keep it up ! he website jhakkaas aahe 😉
Thanks Bandy. Cheers.
Thanks a lot for this website ! finally I can fulfill my desire to speak fluent marathi

Hey Kaushal, Thanks a lot for your comment. It seems you have hard time writing English in Devanagri script :P.
Thanks a lot for putting in an effort to make this site. Not only is it educational, but it’s easy to digest. Keep up the good work.
thanks for commenting Rahul. I’m glad you liked my website.
cheers.
You have created Marathi learning platform so systematically which any non Marathi speaking person can utilize and easily interact with Marathi speaking people in Marathi. I appreciate your hard work and congratulate for this achievement.
thanks a lot Manoharan.
Sairam Akshay,
Excellent website….I am into posting news etc articles related to Sai Baba and or Shirdi. Most of it what i myself get is in Marathi (Print and Videos),
so, find it difficult to translate it into English and I have got to be precisely correct regarding the news…else could be posting wrong info….which is not good.
However thanks to the net…used to manage it somehow but with great difficulty.
Have asked a few to help…but no one seems to be willing to do it…so while searching the net…i landed on your website
and am glad…as now atleast i can rely on a sound and comprehensive website to help me in understanding Marathi….
which I can follow but only to a certain extent.
But wanted to ask you if there is anyone who can help me with transcription or translation of a Audio file of a Marathi news for a Sai Baba article I am drafting at present.
As, can manage only in bits and pieces. If anyone can, I will mail the mp3 file to them. …so tot to ask ….even if not…not problems…
Baba will get it done, if it has to be…like the way he has done till now by some way or the other.
Ps- I have gone through your website…and cannot believe the time and effort you have put in to make learning Marathi so simple and fun.
Very Methodical and precise…Good Work !
Regards,
r:-)Hit
Thanks a lot for this website. I do know now, why I never learned Marathi just by listening to people :-). There are too many changes depending on who is saying something :-). But now I think I have learned a lot and will “survive” my visit to Maharashtra much better! I’m looking foreward to talk to villagers.
Take care – Silvia
Excellent initiative. Kudos. khoop tarakki kara.
Thanks Vijay.
Very nice website. for a new learner. Just a small feedback, I am not finding any lesson on negative sentences. I request you to put a lesson on negative sentences or alternatively include some negative examples in the lessons.
Hi Trailokya , there are lessons on negative sentences in daily Marathi section.
Very nice site.. I was looking for such site for long ! Let me start from today agian and see how soon can I learn marthi.. You can like to start “Daily Word” to increase vocab. Also do you have any short stories in audio format which I can listem and further imporve my marathi ??
Thanks Sharad for your encouraging comment.
As of now, there are no audio stories in Marathi on this website….but you may find them on youtube.
Thanks once again.
I have to start to learn from very beginning and i want to say marathi fluently . kindly help
Great piece of work.Congratulations…
Thanks Parimal
This is a fun web site. Your enthusiasm for मराठी shows! Good job, congratulations!
Thanks Erika.
Hello Akshay,
As I was reaching to the comment box at the bottom of the page, I happened to see soo many fabulous comments for your work and this website. And I am happy to write this comment too. Just like many others I am also an aspirant to Marathi speaking. So obviously I searched whole of internet for Marathi content as everything is readily available. So I came across ‘Mindurmarathi.com’ and found it very simple, to the point and crispy website which provided me almost every detail to understand and learn Marathi. Apart from the content available here, one can learn soo much from the doubts posted by various others and your tactful solutions to those problems.
So, I would like to congratulate for such stupendous work and have just one heartfelt suggestion. Since, its the time when smartphones are replacing every other gadget. So why not develop an application or ‘app’ that will have all of this content and it will reach readily to millions that way. Just a thought which can be phenomenal if applied. I am saying it because people use phones much more than any other gadget and moreover there is no great app available that can compete with the content and user interface available at mindurmarathi.com. GIVE IT A SERIOUS THOUGHT.
ALL THE VERY BEST.
P.S- i hope to comment in marathi sooner
Hi Suraj
Your comment made my day. I’ll definitely think on your idea and put my best resources to work on it.
Thanks a lot.
In a single word your effort can be described as ‘excellent’. The most difficult thing a language learner encounters is negotiating with the grammar and I like to say that your handing of this most intricate part of the lesson is wonderful. The grammar in your lesson is prepared in a way that it goes down the throat without creating any bad taste in the mouth. The entire lesson is structured nicely with meaningful divisions so that the learner can go the relevant section for learning the topic he/she wants. The examples provided are relevant and the periodical updating of the lesson by adding useful forms of daily-use conversations are also helpful. Last but not the least, your prompt attention to all our queries speaks of your dedication to help the learners. This is really commendable.
In the end, I like to put a suggestion for adding audio-support as language learning can never be complete without the knowledge of the spoken form of the language. It also gives a confidence to the learners to use the language in conversation.
Hi Tarit,
Thanks for your wonderful comment. Such comments and feedback from readers like you have kept me going since last two years. I must say that you were among a handful of readers who continuously raised intelligent doubts and made me work hard on my concepts of Marathi grammar and knowledge of the language. I have learned a lot from your comments and updated many pages to clear doubts raised by you in the lessons itself. I am totally impressed by your love for the language and your excellent knowledge of Hindi and English grammar. I am really happy that today I received a pat on my back from a person like you. Also, I completely agree with the points suggested by you. IN future, I’ll take definite steps to add audio support in the lessons.
Thanks again.
Happy Marathi learning !!!
Dear Akshay,
It is extremely heartening for me to read your comments made in reply to my rating of your course material and my suggestions. Please permit me to say a few words about what prompted me to learn Marathi.
I am a Bengali raised in Kolkata and partly in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. But I feel proud to be an Indian first and Indian last. I also feel that every Indian should try to learn the languages of their neighbors for the cause of better understanding of each other. This also dispels some parochial feelings and thoughts. Unfortunately the opportunities to learn an Indian language are very few ( excluding Hindi, of course ). I decided to choose Marathi as the scripts are similar to Hindi and I used to be an occasional visitor of Maharashtra and thus can utilize my knowledge in the state of its origin. Knowledge of native language always brings one closer to the people. Apart from that I have a flair for literature ( Tagore and Premchand being my favourite authors) and I am aware that Marathi literature is very rich both in content and form. I am not very certain about whether I shall be able to taste the literary flavour in its original form, but if time permits, I shall definitely try to improve my level of knowledge to reach my goal.
To this end, your course material and and your personal guidance in the form of attending to my queries with parental care have stood me in good stead. I look forward to your help in future in fulfilling my wishes.
In my personal life, I have very recently retired from the services of State Bank of India after having served nearly 40 years.
Thanking you for your exemplary support.
1. If Modi becomes PM, the country will drown in dark
2. Support for Modi’s opposition (pathimba means support)
3. Support to Kaumi ekta dal from Congress
4. Many bigshots (people) in the ring
Hi Tarit sir,
You can buy Marathi school textbooks for std 5,6,7 for English and Marathi medium. Also,on internet there are good dictionaries.
Dear Akshayji,
I think the translation of the sentence ‘कौमी एकता दलाया कॉंग्रेसला पाठिंबा’ will be ‘Support to Congress from Kaumi Ekta Dal’ and not
‘Support to Kaumi Ekta Dal by Congress’. However, please confirm whether I am right or not.
Tarit Das.
Yes you are right Tarit Sir.
This website is excellent one I’m searching for long time. Great work Akshay.
I would like to put a suggestion not only for Hindi and Marathi why cant for Malayalam, Telugu. and so
It will be very useful for me if done.
Regards
Janany Natarajan
अद्वितीय कामगिरी …..
Words like ‘असतो’ , ‘असेल’ किंबा ‘असे’ are used in various verb forms and tenses in Marathi. Can you tell me the differences between them and the context of their uses ? Please give a few examples and if possible, the Hindi equivalent of such words which will make it easier for me to understand.
Words like “asto” or “asel” shows universal truth or habitual actions.
say for example : raatri andhar asto (it is dark at night) (always)
ratri andhar aahe (It is dark at night) (temporarily)
Let us take a few more examples
: aakash nile aste (sky is blue)
: samudra motha asto (sea is big)
: me roj shaalela jaat asto (I daily go to school)
: me roj sakali pani peet asto (I daily drink water)
Hope this clears your doubt. Sorry for my delayed reply. This comment was got hidden in other comments.
Regards
Akshay
कृपा करून, सांगाल का – ‘कृपा करून’ means ‘Please’ but what is meant by ‘सांगाल का’
saangaal = future of “saangne” (to tell/say)
mast site aahe.
thx akshay.
What is the translation of ‘aaleli ahe’ in English or Hindi ?
In what sense the word ‘ghetla’ or ‘ghetli’ is used ? Kindly give examples.
aaleli aahe is present perfect tense
train aali aahe or aaleli aahe = Train has come
Hello Tarit Sir,
ghetla or ghetli are past forms of verb “ghene” (to take)
It is a transitive verb.
mee pen ghetla (I took the pen)
mee pencil ghetli (I took the pencil)
Hope I cleared your doubt. Have a nice day !!
धन्यवाद अक्षयजी |
It was better learning time. It is short and simple learning phase. Thanks to Mind ur marathi. “Mala Mind Ur Marathi Aavadtes.”
thanks Esther
Really nice web site. It would be great if you can add more phonics in this and videos for phonics with 2 & 3 letters.
Thanks
I understand ‘mala’ or ‘tula, are objective pronouns. But what is the difference between words like ‘amcha’ and ‘majha’ or ‘tyacha’ and ‘tujha’. Please give some examples with Hindi equivalents for better understanding.
Hi Tarit sir,
What you are talking about are possessive pronouns.
aamchaa = Our = हमारा
maajha = my = मेरा
tyachaa= his = उसका
tujha = your = तुम्हारा
बेस्ट वेब्सिते……the बेस्ट.
